Meet The Therapist
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Founder of Miya’s Place, a mental health agency for children and teens. For more than 11 years, I have obtained professional experience working with children and adolescents who struggle with an array of issues, in various clinical settings. My therapeutic approach is tailored to each person’s individual needs, with the goal of helping them to reach their full potential. I know seeking help isn’t always the easiest task, so I commend you for taking this very important step towards helping a young person live a balanced, happy, and productive life. As growth is truly the only evidence of life, if you all are ready to grow, I am ready to help.

Miya's Guardian Angel
Five months before her birth, Ja’Miya “Miya” Howard loss her father. Not being able to meet her father left a void, until she learned to accept him as her guardian angel. Inspired by true events, Miya’s Guardian Angel chronicles some of Miya’s favorite memories created with her father, who is her guardian angel. It is through these events that Miya’s imagination takes her through a journey, where she finds a sense of wholeness by knowing her father has always been right by her side. Miya’s Guardian Angel is a gripping, yet child-friendly account of learning, motivation, and triumph in the face of seemingly tragic circumstances.
Jasper "Jazz" Howard
Jasper Tyrone Howard, better known to his family and friends as Jazz, was born on January 28, 1989, in Miami, Fl. Jazz was full of life and loved to make others smile. As a young child, he developed a love and passion for playing football. It was through football that he found hope to make a better life for himself and his family. Jazz's talent earned him a scholarship to the University of Connecticut, where his future looked promising until it was cut short. Jazz was killed on October 18, 2009, at the young age of 20. He was a son, brother, father to be and friend. Now, he's Miya's Guardian Angel.
